Hours for this role are 5am-6:30pm Friday-Sunday
Pay is $20/hr plus weekend shift differential $1.75/hr

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

General

  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to uphold food safety and product integrity.
  • Consistently follow safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Lead.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds, cultures, abilities, languages, or perspectives.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Food Safety & Quality

  • Execute assigned food safety, quality, and continuous improvement tasks to meet SQF, USDA, and E.A. Sween requirements, along with customer standards.
  • Comply with USDA regulations and E.A. Sween policies.
  • Complete all mandatory E.A. Sween Co. Quarterly Safety Trainings, ensuring OSHA compliance.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company policies.
  • Adhere to GMPs and all E.A. Sween policies, procedures, and standard work protocols.

Standard Work

  • Scan and receive film by lot code and quantity using a handheld device.
  • Ensure film, labels, and other required items are ready for each production line per work order, using Lot Code Tracking.
  • Review work orders, prepare necessary supplies, and ensure each line/work order is equipped.
  • Provide case and ingredient labels to each line, scan them into the work order with an RF scanner, and complete associated paperwork accurately.
  • Supply film to each line, recording lot codes on paperwork.
  • Print and verify master case labels.
  • Conduct metal detector checks as prompted by Redzone.

Leadership

  • Foster a positive, friendly work environment.
  • Follow E.A. Sween Co. policies and procedures.
  • Cooperate with tasks assigned by your supervisor, lead, or line controller.
  • Maintain a reliable attendance record.
  • Participate in Lean activities to support continuous improvement.

Warehouse

  • Notify planning, purchasing, and management of any product shortages impacting scheduled production.
  • Assist with cycle counts of labels, film, corrugated products, etc., as needed.
  • Stock shelves with film, labels, inserts, and other inventory items in the film warehouse.
  • Pull labels, film, and pouches for production two days in advance according to schedule.
  • Support the Inventory Control Specialist with bread-related tasks.
  • Prepare necessary items for each production line in advance, using Lot Code Tracking.
  • Complete physical inventory counts by lot.

Safety

  • Wear and use safety equipment as required.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and positive work environment.

Equipment & PPE

  • Operate and maintain familiarity with:
  • Carts
  • Zebra Label Printer
  • Scanner
  • Scales
  • Film Lift
  • Pallet Jack
  • PPE (hard hats, safety vests)

What You’ll Need (Qualifications)

Required

  • Possess a teamwork-oriented mindset and communicate effectively with others.
  • Maintain a reliable attendance record.
  • Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs continously during a 10-12.5-hour shift, based on the production schedule.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
  • Previous assembly line experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Lifting requirements: Up to 50 lbs. manually; up to 175 lbs with team lift; up to 300 lbs. with a hoist.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including occasional Saturdays.

Preferred

  • Previous warehouse experience

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Able to work in cool conditions (35 to 45 degrees) continuously.
  • Able to stand continuously for 10 – 12.5 hours in a shift.
  • Capable of bending, turning, pushing, and pulling as required continuously.
  • Lifting requirements: Up to 50 lbs. manually; up to 175 lbs with team lift; up to 300 lbs. with a hoist continuously.
  • Able to reach overhead continuously.
  • Able to keep pace with production demands continuously.
