The hourly pay for this position is $30/hr

Hours: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm (flexibility to start earlier or later)

What We’re Seeking

A detailed-oriented individual who will be responsible for parts inventory for the Maintenance department.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

General

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure food safety and integrity.
  • Always follow safety protocols and use designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas.
  • Follow additional tasks as assigned by Manager.
  • Collaborate, communicate, and learn from people with different backgrounds, cultures, abilities, languages, or perspectives.

Administrative

  • Fill out all department paperwork correctly and timely.
  • Order and receive parts for production equipment and the facility using CMMS.
  • Set up new parts in CMMS.
  • Order appropriate parts based on consumption and planned work.
  • Establish, improve and/or maintain cycle count process for at leas all “A” priority parts and consumables.
  • Edit as needed based on feedback from mechanics.
  • Display an advanced knowledge and ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, blueprints, P&ID’s.
  • Display a basic knowledge of tools, methods and skills required to complete maintenance activities.
  • Display a knowledge of parts coordinating principles, practices, methods and tools.
  • Ability to set priorities, work independently and coordinate multiple activities.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and complete activities in a timely manner despite interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Work with external vendors and/or contractors to locate parts; find alternate vendors as needed.
  • Provide leadership in keeping maintenance spend at or below budgeted amount.
  • Assist culture change to a more stable maintenance environment (move away from fire-fighting culture).

Quality

  • SQF Level 3 (Food Safety & Quality).
  • Assist in regulatory & customer requirements.
  • Understanding of HACCP plans.
  • Report any questionable products to Quality (QA or QC) or Production Supervisors.

Teamwork

  • Ability to accept work instructions and complete requests from co-workers.
  • Ability to accept feedback from others relating to parts stock, organization, etc.
  • Provide input and feedback on department updates, status, changes, etc.
  • Provide leadership to others both internal and external to the department.
  • Effectively train others on Parts Process requirements and expectations as needed.

Continuous Improvement

  • Understand general principles and goals of EAS Continuous Improvement/LEAN program.
  • Participate in a cost reduction project.
  • Identify and help execute cost savings of at least $25,000.

Standard Work

  • Understand and be able to complete advanced functions of the Parts Coordinator function utilizing CMMS; create new part, maintain key parts inventory levels, cycle count consumables on a periodic basis, develop and improve CMMS infrastructure.
  • Ownership of Storeroom layout; request mechanics feedback, layout/organization, labeling/barcoding.
  • Work with vendors to decrease parts cost.
  • Understand and be able to complete basic functions of Maintenance Planner duties utilizing CMMS; create work orders, schedule work orders to employees, add new equipment.
  • Work with mechanics and others to understand effectiveness of current parts process; actively request feedback, address common gaps notes.
  • Complete required paperwork for the department.
  • Track and report key maintenance metrics.

What You’ll Need (Qualifications)

Required

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Experience in parts ordering, storing, and inventory control position.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to operate independently yet as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal, teambuilding and leadership skills.
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekend when needed.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work well with others and have a teamwork mindset; communicate effectively.
  • Able to maintain a good attendance record.
  • Able to keep work area clean, safe and organized.

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance or related technical discipline with at least 32 credit hours completed.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration frequently.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and climb continuously.
  • Able to lift and move items 75-100 lbs frequently.
  • Able to have acceptable vision, including close up/distance, able to identify colors, peripheral, depth perception and able to visually focus continuously.
  • Able to work in cool temperatures of 32-45 degrees occasionally.
