What We’re Seeking

The ideal candidate for the SQF Coordinator role is an experienced and detail-oriented professional in food safety and quality management. This individual possesses a robust background in overseeing comprehensive FSQ programs. They are adept at ensuring that all FSQ programs meet and exceed internal, customer, state, and federal requirements, with a desire to work across departments to continue to improve our food safety programs.

This position is fully on-site Mon-Fri at our Eden Prairie office. 

Compensation: The target salary range for this is $70,000-$80,000 annually, consistent with our internal compensation framework.  This position is classified as Grade 16, with a full pay range of $66,096.68 to $99,200.97USD.  You are eligible for an incentive bonus up to 5% of your annual salary, prorated based on your start date.  Final pay will be determined by your experience, skills, internal equity, and available budget.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

    • Maintain and administer a corporate SQF program across all manufacturing locations, including implementation of SQF Ed 10
    • Act as backup SQF practitioner for all manufacturing sites
    • Schedule and lead external audits at all manufacturing sites, including SQF, regulatory, and customer audits
    • Maintain and execute an internal auditing program in compliance with SQF standards, including quarterly (or more frequent) on-site internal audits at each manufacturing facility
    • Manage corrective and preventive actions for both internal and external audits
    • Work collaboratively with the food safety team for each site to ensure compliance with SQF code, regulatory guidelines, and company policy
    • Act as backup recall coordinator and lead annual mock recalls
    • Manage and fulfill customer FSQ requests from the sales support team and external customers
    • Manage, record, trend, and report on customer complaints
    • Oversee corporate FSQ document control and facilitate updates to FSQ standard work
    • Stay apprised to changes in state, local, and federal regulatory and SQF requirements as they relate to FSQ and EAS business
    • Assist site FSQ Managers with quarterly verifications and validations as needed
    • Assist the Supplier and Regulatory Manager with other duties as necessary

    What You’ll Need (Qualifications)

    • BS in Food Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
    • 2+ years of food safety experience
    • 1+ years of SQF management experience
    • HACCP and SQF practitioner certifications; PCQI certification preferred.
    • Experience with HACCP and FSMA principles
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work independently.
    • Strong communication skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Strong relationship skills
    • Ability to travel 10-20% as needed for internal and external audits.
    • SQF Internal Auditor certificate preferred, or ability to obtain within first 6 months of employment.
    • Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen environments for periods of time.
