What We’re Seeking

An Experienced Building Maintenance Technician who is responsible for efficiently maintaining all HVAC and refrigeration equipment and infrastructure supporting equipment.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Understand and apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
    • Adhere to all safety rules and plant regulations.
    • Complete mandatory quarterly safety training.
    • Manage time and work independently.
    • Collaborate with vendors for process improvements.
    • Learn facility equipment layout (HVAC, refrigeration, utilities, physical infrastructure).
    • Perform building maintenance and repairs (plumbing, painting, furniture moving, yard work, other duties as assigned).
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic processes using appropriate tools.
    • Maintain HVAC and refrigeration systems (interpret readouts, repair components).
    • Operate shop equipment (mill, lathe, drill press, welder, etc.).
    • Assist in developing preventive maintenance procedures.
    • Complete work orders in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
    • Follow maintenance planning and parts processes.
    • Understand and apply LEAN principles.
    • Participate in new equipment design and installation projects.
    • Engage in training to enhance skills.
    • Understand SQF Level 3 food safety and quality requirements.
    • Ensure food safety and quality through proper GMPs.
    • Collaborate respectfully with co-workers.
    • Train technicians as needed.
    • Collaborate with departments for timely repairs.
    • Complete required paperwork accurately (PM walk-throughs, maintenance records, work orders).

What You’ll Need (Qualifications)

  1. Have good communication skills
  2. Cross-cultural competence; effective and respectful interactions with people from any culture or place of origin.
  3. Be proficient at Microsoft Word, Google Drive and Outlook
  4. Ability to manage time and workload efficiently and independently
  5. Highly proficient at electrical troubleshooting and building wiring circuits
  6. High level understanding of pneumatic/hydraulic and mechanical components and circuits
  7. Highly proficient at HVAC repairs and troubleshooting in ammonia and freon based systems
  8. Degree in Building Maintenance and/or HVAC or equivalent certifications and licenses, and at least two years industry experience in like role.
